Jennifer Tosini Wexton

Jennifer T. Wexton joined Ritenour Paice & Mougin-Boal in 2005, and became a partner in the firm in 2006.  From 2001 to 2005, Jennifer served  as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Loudoun County.  In that post, Jennifer prosecuted felony and misdemeanor criminal and traffic cases in the Loudoun County Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts.  She successfully prosecuted a number of high-profile cases, including the 2002 murder trial Commonwealth v. Clara Jane Schwartz.

At Ritenour Paice Mougin-Boal & Wexton, Jennifer’s practice includes criminal defense, including felony, misdemeanor, and traffic matters; divorce, child custody, property division and support; general civil litigation; wills, trusts, and estate matters.  Jennifer is certified by the Supreme Court of Virginia to serve as a guardian ad litem to represent the interests of children in pending legal matters.

Jennifer has been active in both the local bar association and the greater community. She is the 2010-2011 President of the Loudoun County Bar Association, and has served on the Bar Board of Directors for several years. In 2009, Jennifer was appointed by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to the Community Services Board (CSB), an advisory policy board that oversees the Loudoun County Department of Mental Health, Substance Abuse and Developmental Services. As a prosecutor, Jennifer received the 2005 Izaak Walton League Award for Outstanding Service to the Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. In private practice, Jennifer was awarded Legal Services of Northern Virginia’s 2007 Harry L. Carrico Award for her pro bono legal work on behalf of the indigent in Loudoun County.

A native of the Washington area, Jennifer is admitted to practice law in Virginia and Maryland.  She graduated with honors from the University of Maryland at College Park, and attended law school at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, earning her law degree in 1995. Jennifer began her legal career in private practice in Alexandria, Virginia, where her practice included criminal defense, family law, trusts and estates, civil litigation, and real estate matters.  A Spanish speaker, Jennifer was regularly appointed by the courts to assist native Spanish speakers in civil and criminal matters. Jennifer also taught legal research and writing as an adjunct professor of law at the George Mason University School of Law.

Jennifer lives in Leesburg with her husband and two children. In her free time, she enjoys training for and competing in triathlons and other local races.
