Katherine Nicole Hovda was born and raised in Lynchburg, Virginia. She graduated from Heritage High School and attended James Madison University, graduating cum laude in 1992 with a degree in Dance and an unfinished minor in Paralegal Studies. She then moved to the Northern Virginia area, working as an administrative assistant during the day and dancing with various area repertory dance companies, including Carla and Company and Sister’s Trousers.
Katie completed her paralegal studies at Northern Virginia Community College and became a Certified Legal Assistant in 2000. A job search in the Leesburg area brought her to Paice & Mougin-Boal, where she has been working ever since. In addition to her paralegal work, Katie performs many office managerial duties and enjoys the one-on-one client interaction that is an integral part of the practice of litigation.
